I wasn't expecting much when ordered my next watch - Seiko SNK809. A US$100 mechanical watch with a Hardlex crystal on top and a bottom (it is a skeleton watch), simplistic but such a readable black and white dial with a day & date complication + utilitarian strap (not the best quality but it just works). And yet this appeared to be the best mechanical watch I've ever had. After SNK809 I'll have a hard time comprehending owning a >$200 watch! Rolex Explorer calls itself a tool watch, yet doesn't have a day & date complication and asks notorious US$8000! Seriously.
